Join us for the inaugural, once-in-a-year celebration honoring both the summer solstice and International Yoga Day. We've created a sunrise-to-sunset journey of specially curated yoga experiences to mark the longest day of the year and celebrate our global yoga community.

A Day of Light, Movement + Community

The summer solstice has been celebrated for thousands of years as a time of light, renewal, and community. International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21st, honors the ancient practice that connects millions worldwide.

At Drift + Oak, we're bringing these two significant occasions together for a special day of practice. From our sunrise "Solstice Awakening" flow at 5:15 AM to our "Solstice Surrender" restorative session at 7:00 PM, each class has been thoughtfully designed to align with the energy of that particular time of day.

Whether you join us for the complete solstice experience or select individual classes that call to you, this celebration offers a unique opportunity to deepen your practice, connect with our community, and honor both the longest day of the year and the global celebration of yoga.

Power + Purpose
7:00-8:15am

Energize your morning with this powerful combination of vibrant movement and focused self-reflection. We'll build heat and awareness through dynamic flow before capturing insights through guided journaling.

Solstice Awakening
5:15-6:30am

Welcome the longest day of the year with this gentle yet purposeful practice designed to greet the first light. As the sun begins to rise, we'll awaken our bodies and set intentions for this special day.

Joint Renewal
9:00-10:15am

Cultivate strength, mobility, and longevity in your joints with this thoughtfully designed practice. Through a balanced blend of movements focusing on all major joints, you'll learn techniques to create space, stability, and sustainable movement patterns. Perfect for practitioners of all ages looking to maintain or improve joint function.

Deep Release: Yin for Hips
10:45-12:00pm

Find profound opening and release in this hip-focused yin practice designed to complement the day's more active sessions. This class helps to increase flexibility + mobility. Teacher: Jess Saraf

Lunch Break
12:00-1:30pm

Take time to rest, refuel, and connect with fellow practitioners. Several of our favorite local spots to enjoy a quick meal: Birchwood Bakery, Blooming Hearts Coffee, Mickey Cassidy’s, Fuego, Nirvana Tea House, Twist Bakery.

Nourish + Flow
1:30-2:45pm

Connect with the nourishing aspects of practice in this grounding midday flow. Special guest Maureen Hodgdon shares insights on nutrition followed by a movement practice for complete mind-body nourishment.

Ready to play with some gravity-defying postures? This workshop breaks down challenging advanced poses including inversions and arm balances into manageable, step-by-step progressions.

Golden Hour Flow

Join us during the day's most magical light as we ride the arc from vibrant movement to peaceful surrender. This practice begins strong and gradually softens—like the day's light—into a calming finish.

Complete your solstice journey with this deeply nurturing practice designed to honor the day's end. Through restorative poses and Yoga Nidra meditation, we'll surrender to stillness as the longest day transitions toward night.

 FAQs

  • Not at all! The Full-Day Pass gives you the flexibility to attend as many or as few classes as you wish. Most participants will find 4-6 classes to be ideal with appropriate rest periods. Our recommended Journey Paths can help you plan your day. Ask us about them!

  • Yes! Our downstairs studio will be open throughout the day as a dedicated relaxation and community space. You can rest, refuel with your snack pack, connect with fellow yogis, or simply take quiet time between sessions.

  • The Solstice Snack Pack includes nourishing items to sustain you throughout the day, including trail mix, energy bars, fruit, a small treat and electrolytes. Snack packs come complimentary with Full-Day Passes and are available for purchase ($15) for all other participants.

  • For most classes, bring your mat, water bottle, and comfortable clothing. For specific classes: Power & Purpose requires a journal and pen; consider layers for morning and evening classes; and you might want to bring a change of clothes if staying for multiple sessions.

  • All passes (Full-Day, Half-Day, and 3-Class) are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person with 48-hour notice to the studio. Single class drop-ins may be refunded up until 3 days before the event (June 18th).

  • We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your first class of the day and at least 10 minutes before subsequent classes. This ensures you have time to check in, set up your space, and settle before practice begins.

  • Absolutely! Your pass allows you to come and go as needed. Both our upstairs and downstairs spaces are available for rest periods, but you're also welcome to leave the studio between classes if you prefer.

  • Yes, we provide all necessary props for each class. Except: Journal for Power + Purpose class, please bring your own. Everything will be cleaned between sessions, and you're also welcome to bring your own props if preferred.

  • As with all classes at our studio you must be at least 16 years old to participate.
